Camera Position Tool – A Short Guide

To help learn more about the camera position tool have prepared a short video. The video covers the basic steps for installation, licensing and use of the AccuPixel Camera Position Tool.

We built this tool to make our lives easier. To make the process as simple as drag-and-drop but have some powerful adjustments and visual feedback for some confidence.

There is a neat algorithm to cope with the fact cameras always work faster than position recording, and any image captured between positions can be interpolated to refine positional accuracy. Adjusting the velocity and working with a variety of GPS formats are also available.

Adjustments include time offset for when the camera is not synced to the GPS time clock (yes, we have forgotten) and excluding certain images by drawing a polygon allows early filtering of any data that might be questionable.

Finally, working underwater requires a negative value for altitude for correct positioning and every entry can be automatically prefixed with the required minus ‘-‘ symbol.

Position can be written to a CSV or directly embedded into the image metadata.

Simple yet powerful is our goal.
